Footprints of Nordic, Europe and Africa FSS Beams Sirius 4 not available for the public ?
Dear sirs and madams,
I've been looking for the footprints of Sirius 4. The ones for the BSS Europe and BSS Nordic Beams were available long time available before its launch. So far first reports show that the BSS Nordic Beam can be partly received even in southern parts of the Mediterranean which was not the case before with Sirius 3. On the other hand the FSS Beam has weaken a lot, even here in southern Germany. Lots of dish installers all over Europe are desperately looking for a plausible explanation of this fact but since the footprints are still missing on your website i decided to get in contact with you by mail. So what information is missing on your Sirius 4 information site ?
a) FSS Nordic footprint
b) FSS Europe footprint
c) FSS Africa footprint
d) Ka-Band footprint
e) transponder list with each showing the power and the beam that can be used
Finally i would like to ask you
1.) when Sirius 2 will be moved to 23.5E
2.) if it will cover the same areas as from 5E before or if there are new footprints available for example moving the Nordic and the FSS beam over Central Europe since the key markets of 23.5E are NL/D/CZ/SLK
3.) what will happen with Sirius 3 (Backup for Sirius 4 ?)
Thank you very much for your time in advance. I am sure the european satellite enthusiast community and most of all the professional installers will be very glad for some detailed information of yours.
Best regards
C. Gardikiotis / Stuttgart

Thank you for your interest in SIRIUS 4. We are preparing the FSS Nordic and European footprints for the web. The coverage is the same as for BSS beam but with lower dBW values.
The dBW values for the 60 cm BSS coverage is for FSS 47 dBW, for 90 cm area 43 dBW, 120 cm area 41 dBW and for the 240 area 35 dBW. The reason for the weaker signal is that the transponders are 72 MHz. We will not market the African beam, therefore it is not available on our web site. SES ASTRA will take care of the marketing and sales on this beam.
Even if the SIRIUS 4 Nordic beam has a better coverage than SIRIUS 3 there is no guarantee for reception outside the areas in the footprint on the web.
When the information about SIRIUS 2 is public we will publish it on our web site. The SIRIUS 3 satellite is used as back-up for SIRIUS 4.
